The Institute of Genetic and Regenerative Medicine is a state-run research institution dedicated to developing and implementing advanced gene and cell technologies in both fundamental science and practical medicine. Prof. Svitlana NOVIKOVA, Sc.D. leads the institute and Prof. Gennadii BUTENKO, a Full Member of NAMS Ukraine and a Corresponding Member of NAS Ukraine.

In 2022, the Institute became part of M. D. Strazhesko National Scientific Center of Cardiology, Clinical and Regenerative Medicine of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

The institute comprises three departments:

• Department of Genetic Diagnostics, led by Corresponding Member of Academician of NAMS Ukraine, Prof. Natalia GOROVENKO, Sc.D.
• Department of Gene Technologies, led by Dr. Olena Deryabina, Ph.D.
• Department of Cell and Tissue Technologies, led by Dr. Vitalii KYRYK, Sc.D.

Established to advance basic and applied research in genetic and regenerative medicine, the institute focuses on comprehensive development in these areas.
